The Establishment of the Thailand-Egypt Joint Trade Commission (JTC)
On 26, December 2024, His Excellency the Thai Minister of Trade Mr. Pichay Naripthavan, and His Excellency the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Mr. Hassan Al-Khatib, officially signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the establishment of the Joint Trade Commission and the Joint Action Plan (JAP) for Economic Cooperation, aimed at strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.
Based on Thailand’s 13th Economic and Social Plan (2023-2027) and Egypt’s Vision 2030, the Joint Action Plan (JAP) has been developed to promote innovation-based economic growth, focusing on five major areas of economic cooperation, namely: trade and investment, agriculture, conventions and industrial areas, small, medium and small-scale enterprises (MSMEs), and tourism.
The Memorandum of Understanding and the Joint Action Plan represent a joint commitment to promoting economic growth, mutual trade and deepening relations between the two countries.
