On 17 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Thanawat Sirikul presented his Letter of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Eritrea, with residence in Cairo, to H.E. Mr. Isaias Afwerki, President of Eritrea, at Denden Guest House in Asmara. During this meeting, both sides discussed relations between Thailand and Eritrea, particularly people-to-people ties, cooperation for sustainable development, exchange of knowledge in agriculture, fisheries, food security, and the promotion of trade and tourism for mutual benefit of both countries.
