On 3 June 2024, Mr. Thanabordee Joothong, Chargé d'Affaires a.i., presided over the opening of the Thai Film Screening, set to take place between 3-5 June 2024 at Zawya Cinema, Cairo. On the first day, the Thai-Malayu romantic comedy film “My Love Is Soup” was screened with participation of Mr. Kriangkrai Monvichit, the Director, and Ms. Kanjana Sriman, the Screenwriter. The film portrayed not only the multiculturalism in Thailand, but also the similarities between Thailand and Egypt, such as the love for food and the friendly people. It was well-received by the Egyptian public and youths, who had the opportunity to chat and exchange views with the Director at the end. The Embassy also provided Thai-Malayu food, such as beef soup, spicy rice salad and Southern-style grilled chicken, for the audience to taste.
