On 12 November 2024, Mr. Thanabordee Joothong Chargé d'Affaires, a.i., attended the Graduation Ceremony 2024 for Thai students who graduated from Al-Azhar University at Andalus Hall, Azhar Conference Center. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Prof. Dr. Salama Dawood, President of the University, as the representative of H.E. Grand Imam, and joined by H.E. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Siddiq, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and H.E. Prof Dr. Mohamed Abdel Malek, Vice President for Upper Egypt. There were 146 new graduates participated in this year ceremony.

This year marks the 17 years of the Graduation Ceremony jointly organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo and the Thai Students’ Association under the Royal Patronage (TSA) with financial support from the Royal Thai Government. It celebrated the graduates and students with good academic results from the world-renowned Islamic educational institution. These graduates will use their knowledge and experience to disseminate moderate Islamic knowledge and be an important part of future development of Thailand.
