On 11 December 2025, H.E. Mr. Thanawat Sirikul, Ambassador of Thailand to Egypt paid a courtesy call to H.E. Mr. Ahmed El-Moslemany, Chairman of the National Media Authority, to exchange ideas on promoting relations between Thailand and Egypt. Mr. El-Moslemany praised the beautiful tourist attractions and the warm hospitality of the Thai people, which always leaves a lasting impression on Egyptian tourists. Following the discussion, the Ambassador gave an interview to Egyptian Radio's "World of Knowledge" program, hosted by Dr. Amr Mabrouk. He discussed various topics concerning Thailand, including geography, history, education, tourism, international trade, industry, and public health, particularly the globally recognized universal health insurance system. Furthermore, the Ambassador mentioned the close and cordial relations between Thailand and Egypt, dating back to the visit of King Chulalongkorn to Egypt in 1897; the visit of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, then Crown Prince, to Egypt in 1988, and the visit of HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya to Egypt this year to participate in the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum. In addition, the Ambassador spoke of the people-to-people relationship between Thailand and Egypt, underpinned by the fact that tens of thousands of Thai students have studied at Al-Azhar University for over 70 years, generation after generation.
