On 9 December 2025, H.E. Mr. Thanavat Sirikul Ambassador of Thailand to Egypt attended the opening ceremony of Food Africa 2025 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) in Cairo. He visited the Thailand Pavilion and met with five Thai food exporters participating in the event: Sunlee (ready-made coconut milk, canned fruits and vegetables, rice, sauces), Erawan (rice flour, noodles), K.R.S. Spicy Food (sauces, dips, and chili pastes), S. Ruam (processed seafood, nuts, and dried fruits), and Star Cannery (canned food). The Thai entrepreneurs expressed their admiration for the potential of the Egyptian market and their interest in expanding exports to Egypt and Africa, reflecting the growing economy and increasing popularity of Thai food. Food Africa is an annual event; this year, the 10th edition, held from 9-12December 2025, and is the largest food trade show in Africa. The participation of Thai entrepreneurs in the event is supported by the Ministry of Commerce and the Thai Trade Center in Cairo. On 12th December, there will be a Thai cooking demonstration by Thai chefs, including Chef Thida and Chef Panee from Sabai Sabai restaurant in Cairo.
