On 30 November 2025, H.E. Mr. Thanawat Sirikul, Ambassador of Thailand to Egypt, hosted the Asian Ambassadors' Group (AAG) meeting at the Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at the First Residence. Participants include H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Orabi, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt as the Guest of Honour, H.E. Mr. Dominic Goh Kian Swee, Ambassador of Singapore and Chair of the AAG, and 16 Ambassadors and Chargé d'Affaires from member embassies.
Former Minister Orabi delivered a presentation on the international political situation, Egypt's role and stance in the Middle East and Africa. Following this, the ambassadors exchanged information and perspectives useful for strengthening Asia's relations with Egypt in the areas of politics, economy, transportation, education, culture, and human resource development cooperation. This includes exchanges between young diplomats and foreign affairs institutions.
The AAG is the largest grouping of Asian diplomatic missions in Cairo, with 26 member embassies. It serves as an important forum for strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation networks between Asian diplomatic missions in Cairo and Egypt, supporting political and economic cooperation, exchanging information, and coordinating on issues affecting regional stability.
