On 2 December 2018 His Excellency Mr. Chainarong Keratiyutwong, Ambassador of Thailand led the delegation from the Office of the Sheikhul Islam of Thailand led by Mr. Sutham Boonmalert, Secretary to His Eminence Mr. Aziz Phitakkumpon, Sheikhul Islam of Thailand, Mr. Faisol Leewan, Head of the World Association for Al-Azhar Graduates in Thailand and executive directors of religious schools in Thailand paid a courtesy call on His Eminence Prof. Dr. Shawki Ibrahim Abdelkarim Mosa Allam, Grand Mufti of Egypt. Both sides had discussed about the overall of the Muslim society in Thailand and the Grand Mufti's impression on his previous visit to Thailand in 2017 as well as the cooperation between the Thai side and Dar al Iftaa of Egypt in promoting knowledge and correct understanding of the interpretation of Islam to the Thai Muslim students in Egypt.
