On 4 December 2018 His Excellency Mr. Chainarong Keratiyutwong, Ambassador of Thailand welcomed General Thiwa Penketgorn, Advisor to the National Security Council of Thailand, together with Deputy Secretary of Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre, the Advisor of Government Representative of the Steering Committee for Southern Border   Provinces Administration, and other delegates from authorities concerned namely the Office of the Security Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre, during their visit to Cairo to meet with the President of Al-Azhar University and to visit Thai Muslim students in Egypt. On this occasion the Ambassador and the Embassy's official presented the delegation with a briefing about the Embassy's role in supporting the Thai Muslim students' living and education both in Egypt and Sudan as well as security dimension in Egypt and the Middle East region.
