On 21 May 2019 the Royal Thai Embassy provided support for the General Thai Students Union in Sudan in hosting Iftar for the Thai students in Sudan on an occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, 1440 Hijri, at the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate and at the Office of the Union for male and female students respectively. Approximately 500 Thai students who are studying in Sudan attended the event and experienced warm and friendly atmosphere among the Thai students who come from different universities to pray and break fasting together. On this occasion, officers from the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate had also provided necessary facilitation and joined an Iftar with the Thai students.

This event was taken place due to the Embassy’s recognition of significance of fasting and its break during the holy month of Ramadan which is a sacred period for the Thai Muslims as well as for the Muslims across the globe.
