During 20 – 23 March 2019 the Royal Thai Embassy had welcomed H.E. General Surachet Chaiwong, the Deputy Minister of Education of Thailand, and the delegation from the Office of the Non-Formal and Informal Education and the Ministry of Education of Thailand who visited Cairo for an official function on Thai students’ affairs.

On 21 March 2019 the delegation discussed with H.E. Mr. Chainarong Keratiyutwong, Ambassador of Thailand to Egypt and received comprehensive briefing on Thai students’ affairs in Egypt on ways and means to support and promote Thai students’ education. Later on 22 March 2019 the Ambassador led the delegation to visit the Office of the Non-Formal and Informal Education in Cairo to assess the Office’s performance and its barrier to improvement as well as to visit the Thai Students’ Association in Cairo under the Royal Patronage in order to observe views and voices that were raised by the Thai students regarding their studies in Egypt.

To conclude the visit, H.E. General Surachet expressed his willingness to resolve hindrances that bar an educational development for Thai students in Egypt such as performance advancement of the Office of the Non-Formal and Informal Education in Cairo, a pending equalization of a certificate of    secondary education (non-religious) between Thailand and Egypt and long distance education with open universities in Thailand.
