On 28 November 2018 His Excellency Mr. Chainarong Keratiyutwong, Ambassador of Thailand, met with Mr. Sutham Boonmalert, Secretary to His Eminence Mr. Aziz Phitakkumpon, Sheikhul Islam of Thailand, and his delegation at the Royal Thai Embassy to discuss about the renewal of the validity of the curriculum equalization between a number of religious schools in Thailand and Al-Azhar University which is scheduled to expire on the academic year of 2018/2019. During the meeting both sides also discussed about ways and means to further strengthen cooperation between the Embassy and the Sheikhul Islam Office in promoting the education for around 3,500 Thai Muslim students in Egypt. Both sides reiterated their readiness and willingness to join hands on this matter.
