On 13 April 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo organised Songkran Day 2024 for the Thai community to celebrate Songkran and Thai new year at the residence of Ambassador.  On the occasion, the Embassy respectfully invited the Buddha image “Phra Phuttha Sirindhorn Theprattan Mongkhon Phuwadon Santi" bestowed upon by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for the Thai community to sprinkle water onto
the Buddha image.  Moreover, the Thai community enjoyed a lot of fun activities and games
as well as delicious Thai food.
