On 8 February 2025, Mr. Thanabordee Joothong, Chargé d’affaires a.i., opened the Orientation Day Activity for the new Thai students of the academic year 2024/2025, organised by the Thai Students' Association in Cairo under the Royal Patronage (TSA), at Nasr City Youth Club. There were 361 new students attended the activity.

On this occasion, the  CDA congratulated the new students on their admission to Al-Azhar University, one of the oldest and famous universities in the Sunni Muslim world. He advised the new students on three topics: achieving their academic goals, learning outside the classroom, especially the multicultural society of Egypt, and being mindful when living abroad.

In addition, the Orientation Day this year coincided with the 70^th anniversary of the TSA’s establishment (8 February 1955). The CDA congratulated and expressed appreciation to past and present committee members for their dedicated efforts in organizing various activities for Thai students in Egypt.

The Royal Thai Embassy has supported Orientation Day Activities for many years as it fosters friendship and unity among Thai students and equips them with information and experiences shared by senior students on how to succeed in studying and living in Egypt.
