On 10 December 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy organised a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand at Cairo Marriott Hotel, with Dr. Sharif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade of the Arab Republic of Egypt, as the Guest of Honour. The reception was well attended by the diplomatic community and Friends of Thailand from both public and private sector.

At the reception, a video compilation highlighting important visits and the Embassy’s activities that took place throughout this year, which marks the 70th anniversary of Thailand-Egypt diplomatic relations, was shown. There were demonstrations of traditional Thai flower garlands making and fruit carving. Guests also enjoyed a variety of Thai cuisines and sweets, especially Tomyum Kung, which was recently inscribed on UNESCO's list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).
