During 22-23 December 2024, Mr. Thanabordee Joothong, Chargé d'affaires a.i., attended the 276^th ASEAN Committee in Cairo (ACC) Out-of-Cairo Heads of Mission Meeting at Movenpick Hotel in El Gouna, hosted by the Brunei Embassy and chaired by the Ambassador of Singapore. The Meeting discussed the ACC Annual Activities to raise awareness about ASEAN in Egypt including Thailand’s proposal to organize Brown Bag Sessions on ASEAN in collaboration with leading Egyptian Universities in 2025. In addition, ACC visited El Gouna Fish Farm, which helped reduce the salinity in the by-product of the desalination process before releasing back into the ocean.  This is one example of sustainable development in Egypt.

On this occasion, the Ambassador of Singapore also handed over the ACC chairmanship to the Ambassador of Malaysia, who will take up the role for the first half of 2025.
