The Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo, in cooperation with Egyptian Chefs Association (ECA), wrapped up “Thai Cooking Demo Series 2018 in Egypt” with the fourth cooking demo held at Bird Cage Restaurant, InterContinental Semiramis Hotel on 6^th August 2018. It is the last Thai cooking event the Embassy organized this year, following three previous demonstrations at Ruen Thai Restaurant in Cairo, White Elephant Restaurant in Hurghada and Sala Thai Restaurant in Sharm el Sheikh on 26^th June, 17^th July and 25^th July, respectively.   

At the event, Thai Chef from Bird Cage Restaurant demonstrated how to cook tasty Thai dishes including Beef Salad with Lemon Grass, Stir Fried Shrimps with Red Curry, Seafood Salad with Ginger as well as Chicken Basil Leaves. About 40 guests who attended the demonstration including ASEAN Ambassadors and diplomats, Egyptian government officials, Egyptian chefs from various restaurants in Cairo and journalists were all impressed with the demonstration and also enjoyed tasting Thai cuisine.     

The Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo continuously promotes Thai cuisine through several activities in accordance with the Royal Thai Government’s “Thai Kitchen of the World” initiative. Apart from cooking demonstrations and workshops, last year the Embassy organized Thai cooking competition among young Egyptian Chefs, which helped increase Thai food’s popularity among circle of Egyptian Chefs.
