The Ambassador of Thailand Presents Letter of Credence to the President of the Republic of the Sudan

During 4 - 8 March 2018, H.E. Mr. Chainarong Keratiyutwong, Ambassador of Thailand to Sudan with residence in Cairo, Egypt presented his Letters of Credence to H.E. Field Marshal Omar Hasan Ahmad al-Bashir President of the Republic of the Sudan. Ambassador Chainarong also attended the Forum of Non-Resident Ambassadors to Sudan organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sudan and the Committee of Honorary Consuls in Sudan.

 

Whilst on his official trip, the Ambassador was able to meet and consult with various partners:

(1) discussed strengthening bilateral relations with H.E. Mr. Ghandour Ibrahim, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan, to seek ways to enhance trade and investment cooperation between Thailand and Sudan.

(2) consulted consular matters with Mr. Ahmed Elnefeidi, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Sudan, and emphasized the importance of taking good care of Thai people and Thai students in Sudan.

(3) visited the Thai Students Association in Khartoum, to offer advice on studying and living abroad as well as guidlines for student activities. The Ambassador also provided books, Thai traditional dresses and Thai boxing equipment for the Thai students to organize and increase awareness of Thai culture in Sudan.

(4) visited a Thai restaurant and spa and discussed with the restaurant owner and Thai workers on their liviing and working conditions in Sudan. Currently, there are 3 Thai spas and 1 Thai restuarant in service.

The Embassy and the Thai Honorary Consulate also organized a musical performance by VieTrio with more than 200 attended guests from diplomatic organizations and the Sudan government.
