On 16 February 2025, H.E. Mr. Thanawat Sirikul, Ambassador-designate of Thailand to Egypt attended the 277th ASEAN Committee in Cairo (ACC) Heads of Mission Meeting at the Residence of the Indonesian Ambassador, hosted by the Indonesian Embassy and chaired by the Malaysian Ambassador. The meeting welcomed Ambassador Thanawat and thanked Thailand for successfully organizing the 5th Brown Bag Session on ASEAN with Cairo University on 11 February 2025. In addition, the meeting discussed activities to further promote awareness of ASEAN in Egypt in 2025 in the economic, cultural, sports and academic sectors, both at the government and people-to-people levels. Thailand also shared its experience in organizing the Thai Food Bazaar 2025 which would be an example for organizing a similar event under the ASEAN framework.
