On 10 June 2024, the Egyptian business delegation paid a courtesy call on Dr. Nalinee Thavisin, Thailand Trade Representative, at the Government House with the presence of the Ambassador of Egypt to Thailand and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce, and Thailand Board of Investment. Both sides welcomed the 70th anniversary of the Thai-Egyptian diplomatic relations in 2024 which the relations have been close and cordial. It is agreed that Thailand and Egypt can act as gateways for one another: Thailand as a gateway to Southeast Asia and beyond while Egypt as a gateway to the Middle East and African and Europe as well as countries that Egypt has free trade agreement and agreements with, such as U.S.A., Latin American region, and GCC. In addition, both sides supported the resumption of Bangkok-Cairo direct flight which will further promote people to people relations.
