On 1 June 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo and the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate in Khartoum together with the General Thai Students Union in Sudan held an annual Iftar, on occasion of the Islamic Holy Month of Ramadan, for Thai students in Sudan at the office of the Consulate. At the event, approximate 350 Thai students from Khartoum and its neighboring cities attended to join Iftar and discussed with the Embassy’s officer and the honorary consul about their studies and living in Sudan in a warm and casual atmosphere.
