On 26 – 28 September 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo, in collaboration with Egyptian Muay Thai Association, organized Muay Thai training in Egypt at Ashali Stadium, Nasr City.   The event was attended by approximately 100 Egyptian Muaythai trainers all over the country to take the opportunity to receive intensive Muay Thai training from a leading Muay Thai trainer in Thailand, Mr. Panomprai Sraklang from Sasiprapa Gym. It was the first Muay Thai training in Egypt by Thai trainer.

              Besides, on 29 September 2014, H.E. Mr. Peerasak Chantavarin, Ambassador of Thailand to Egypt, hosted the reception at his residence for Egyptian Muay Thai Association and Muay Thai trainers. The event included Thai buffet dinner, certificate awarding ceremony, Thai food demonstration, and Thai products showcase held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. 

              Muay Thai is steadily popular in Egypt with more than 200 Muay Thai clubs and over 2,000 Muay Thai boxers.

              In his remarks, the Ambassador stressed the supreme of Muay Thai, that besides help keeping fit and healthy but also helps in enhancing harmony and unity among people as well as spirit of community. Moreover, Muay Thai will help in enhancing cultural relations and people to people contacts between Thailand and Egypt. The Ambassador also assured the Embassy's readiness to continue supporting Muay Thai’s activities in Egypt.
