On 21 March 2014, Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo organized a senatorial overseas election at the Thai Consulate-General in Khartoum, Sudan. The election went smoothly with 83 Thais turned out to cast their votes. During the visit to Sudan, the Embassy also provided consular services including passport application and legalization to Thai citizens in Khartoum.
