On 11 June 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy led the Egyptian business delegation to a meeting with Mr. Jiraphant Asvatanakul, Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Advisor of the Committee on South Asia, Middle East and Africa at the Thai Chamber of Commerce’s Headquarter. The two sides discussed about opportunities for cooperation, particularly in the sectors of mutual interests such as tourism, hospitality and hotel management, agriculture, and jewelry, with the aim to increase trade volume and investment between the two countries. Furthermore, both sides agreed to revive the network of private sector and exchange visits in the near future.
The Egyptian business delegation also visited Hi-Tech Apparel Co., Ltd., the leading sportswear manufacturing company in Southeast Asia. Mr. Wason Vitanakorn, Chief Executive Officer, briefed the delegation on the company’s workplan to set up a manufacturing factory in the West Qantara Industrial Zone in 2025, pointing out the crucial advantage of Egypt, namely the shorter shipping time to the United States of America and European countries, 7-14 days and 21-30 days respectively.
