On 8 March 2022, His Excellency Mr. Puttaporn Ewtoksan, Ambassador of Thailand to Egypt, opened the 18th Thailand Mini Soccer in Cairo, organised by the Thai Students' Association in Cairo under the Royal Patronage, at Nasr City Youth Club.

The Ambssador was pleased that the Royal Thai Embassy had the opportunity to once again support the organisation of Thailand Mini Soccer in Cairo after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 situation. He reminded the students that sport competition is not only about winning, but also about the friendship and unity among the students. He also advised them to build on and utilise such events to interact with fellow foreign students and Egyptian friends, whereby they could consider inviting fellow foreign students as well as university faculty and personnel to participate in future sport competitions.
