On 24 February 2024, Mr. Thanabordee Joothong, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo, presided over the opening of the "20th Mini Soccer Tournament" organized by the Thai Students’ Association in Cairo under the Royal Patronage at Shabab Nasr City Stadium in Cairo. There are 45 teams participated in this year tournament.

Mr. Thanabordee stated that the Royal Thai Embassy is pleased to support Thailand Mini Soccer Tournament for over two decades and commended the Thai Students’ Association for working as a team to organize the event. This sport event allowed the students to use their free time productively and helped promote their health.

In addition, Mr. Thanabordee wished that the tournament will be full of excitement and good sportsmanship. On the closing day (5 March 2024), there also will be a friendly match between Team Thailand and the ASEAN Student Team.
