On 10 March 2026, ASEAN Ambassadors to Egypt co-hosted an Iftar (breaking of the fast) dinner for the month of Ramadan at the Indonesian Ambassador's Residence. On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Thanawat Sirikul, Ambassador of Thailand to Egypt, in his capacity as Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Cairo, thanked Egyptian counterparts for their continued support of the ASEAN Embassies, including the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Al-Azhar University, investment promotion agencies, academia, the business sector, and the media. This event, now held for the third consecutive year, reinforces ASEAN's presence in Egypt and encourages engagement between ASEAN member states' diplomatic missions and various Egyptian government and private sector organizations. More than 100 guests attended the gathering.
