On 21 July 2022, H.E. Mr. Puttaporn Ewtoksan, Ambassador of Thailand, chaired the 260th ASEAN Committee in Cairo (ACC) Meeting at the Conrad Cairo Hotel. The Meeting discussed about ACC’s annual activities in preparation for the celebration of ASEAN Day on 8 August 2022. On this occasion, the Meeting adopted the Term of Reference (TOR) which will provide guidelines for conducting ACC’s activities. Thailand played an important role in the development of TOR during our chairmanship.

ASEAN Committee in Cairo comprises of 9 ASEAN Member States that have embassies in Cairo (except Lao PDR) and meets monthly in order to promote awareness and collective interests of ASEAN in Egypt. Currently, Thailand assumes the role as chair of ACC and will hand over the chairmanship to Vietnam in August 2022.
