On September 29, 2015, His Excellency Mr. Thanawat Sirikul, the Ambassador of Thailand to Egypt, participated in the 6th ASEAN Lecture, organized by the ASEAN Committee in Cairo (ACC), in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics and Management of October 6 University, to present an overview of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for university administrators, faculty, and students.

Leading up to the seminar, Heads of Mission of the ACC were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Hesham Kamel Temraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, who presented an introductory information of October 6 University.

The seminar attracted over 200 Egyptian and ASEAN students, who attended the ACC President's presentation on the history and an overview of ASEAN and participated in a Q&A session, particularly on the successful sub-regional integration of ASEAN in the areas of relations between member states, regional security, economic networking, and promoting people-to-people ties, geopolitical challenges, and digital transformation and related infrastructure.
